What we talk about

"One day my granddad tried to have a conversation with me, which he didn’t do often because he found it so difficult. He got halfway through and then forgot what he was trying to say. I was very uncomfortable standing there seeing him so angry at himself because he couldn’t think of the words but I didn’t know what to say. Now that I have more knowledge on dementia and I am older, I realise that I should have just said it was okay and we could talk about it another time and not to worry because reassurance is important.
